Who's the new General Manager at Southern Trace Country Club in Shreveport?

Meet Richard ‘Ricky’ Rogers. Mr. Rogers is the newly appointed general manager at Southern Trace and you may recognize him from his time at Shreveport's East Ridge Country Club where he had been since 2007 until now. Under his leadership, there's no doubt that he grew East Ridge's business exponentially. Prior to working at East Ridge, Rogers successfully managed the Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club for 12 years. Additionally, Rogers is very active in the community and a graduate of Louisiana Tech University. Recognizing his proven skills with 30-plus years of experience in the private club management arena, Southern Trace brought him aboard. Congrats, Ricky!

What upgrades did Southern Trace make to their facility recently?

This is the perfect time for Rogers to join the Southern Trace team as they recently finished major upgrades to the facility including a $4.2 million golf course renovation and enhancement project that was completed last year. Southern Trace recently finished the first phase of their clubhouse renovation which included upgrades to the club’s fitness facility, installation of a Trackman simulator room, and the opening of a new childcare facility. Phase two of the clubhouse renovation will begin in 2024 with improvements being made to the dining facility and banquet space.

What's the story behind Southern Trace?

Southern Trace has long been a bastion for the social and economic elite of Shreveport. Established in 1988, the Arthur Hill-designed course has been recognized by Golf Digest, has won a multitude of awards, and has played host to several high-level tournaments. Southern Trace also boasts a ton of amenities like tennis courts, a resort-style swimming pool complex, and several dining options. Southern Trace is operated by Troon Privé out of Arizona.
