As per usual, SPAR (Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation) and the City of Shreveport have set up a calendar of events sure to please! Becky Berry reached out to us to release the following upcoming events:

• Saturday, October 25th, SPAR is hosting the first annual “Pink Out”. “SPAR Goes Pink” begins at 9 AM at Lee Hedges Stadium (6115 E. Kings Highway). The event is free and open to the public. “SPAR Goes Pink” is to recognize, honor and support those individuals touched by cancer and to enhance Breast Cancer Awareness month. The event features community leaders and health care professionals to help education and bring a greater awareness to our community. • Saturday, October 25th, SPAR Therapeutic Division is hosting an Adaptive Flag Football Championship game and banquet. Games begin at 10 AM at Princess Park Community Center (931 Baker). This event is geared toward individuals with mental/physical disabilities. For more information, contact SPAR Therapeutic Division at 318-673-7815.

• Saturday, October 25th, the Red River District is hosting “Tailgating in the District” with Inavit Innovations and Fully Stacked. Come show your LSU spirit and watch the game on a big screen (kickoff is at 6:30 PM). Commerce Street will be closed from Travis Street to the Red River District for tailgating (available after 2 PM). Tables will also be available under the Texas Street Bridge. Prizes will be given for the most spirit, best tailgating spot and most spirited table. Contact Marissa Carbine, SPAR Event Services, at 318-673-5100 for more information.

• Tuesday, October 28th, the SPAR Spokes will take on Shreveport’s Police in a wheelchair basketball game. The game begins at 6:30 PM at Princess Park Community Center (931 Baker). • Wednesday, October 29th, David Raines Community Center (2820 Round Grove) is hosting their 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk and Health Fair. The event begins at 9 AM. • Thursday, October 30th, the SPAR Therapeutic Division will host a Halloween Explosion at Riverview Hall from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. There will be music, door prizes, Sandy the Clown, candy bags and much more. Refreshments will be served. This event is targeted for those individuals of all ages in our community with disabilities. • Friday, October 31st, from 5 PM to 8 PM, SPAR hosts their annual Citywide Halloween Party at our community centers throughout Shreveport. Each center hosts a various events from games, contests, treats and more. The event is free and open to the public.
