It hasn’t been terribly long since FOX said goodbye to American Idol, what with the whole “reality competition” craze having appreciably cooled since the early 2000s regardless. Still, leave it to NBC to potentially drag Ryan Seacrest back to the stage for a revival season, throwing The Voice into question in the process.

Here are some facts you may not know about the 2001 Owen Wilson-led war thriller Behind Enemy Lines. First, despite overwhelmingly negative reviews, the movie was a box office success, grossing over $90 million worldwide. Second, the film spawned three loosely related direct-to-video sequels: Behind Enemy Lines II: Axis of Evil, Behind Enemy Lives: Colombia (starring Joe Manganiello!), and SEAL Team 8: Behind Enemy Lines. And finally, despite nobody anywhere requesting it, Fox is about to give us our very own Behind Enemy Lines television show.

Adam Scott and Craig Robinson have enjoyed the odd TV guest spot on shows like The Good Place or Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but it’s about time the Parks and Recreation and Office alum got their own fulltime gigs. So it is, that FOX has given a pilot order to their X-Files-style comedy, Ghosted.

We still don’t really know what FOX has in mind for its as-yet-untitled X-Men TV series, but we’re one step closer to finding out. The X-Men universe-set film has an official pilot order at the network, as shepherded by Burn Notice alum Matt Nix.

Whether or not FOX ever gets The X-Files back for another case, Michael Scofield and the Prison Break crew are raring to go in their own revival this spring. A brand-new trailer reveals both Michael’s return from the grave and our new setting, while FOX finally sets an official premiere.

Perhaps the only thing to stifle anticipation for another X-Files revival was the first X-Files revival, though FOX undoubtedly wants the chance to try again. That may soon become a reality, as network heads claim they hope to announce the next chapter “shortly,” potentially even for the next TV season.

Time will tell if we ever see The Simpsons attempting another theatrical venture, but in the meantime, mid-January will pad Season 28’s runtime a bit with a first-ever hourlong episode. The hour in question will re-imagine The Great Gatsby with a hip-hop bent, while you can see the first footage with star Keegan-Michael Key right now.

The success of Preacher certainly opened TV doors for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, most recently with the Hulu order of Josh Hutcherson series Future Man. Now, Rogen and Goldberg are at it again two-fold, eyeing a sidekick inversion for a new FOX superhero series, and an Illuminati spoof for ABC.
