Mardi Gras in the Arklatex

We are gearing up for a spectacular parade on Saturday as the Krewe of Centaur rolls at 4:30.

The Krewe of Centaur members gathered to get some final instructions for parade day and have a little fun during parade week. All of the members we talked with are thrilled that the forecast looks great for the big day. The parade is set to roll at 4:30 Saturday afternoon from the corner of Lake and Clyde Fant Parkway ...

It's one of the biggest parades in the region and it rolls this Saturday. The Krewe of Centaur parade kicks off at 4:30 in the afternoon. City crews have already started putting up police tape to block off areas along the parkway. Port-o-potties will be going up all along the route in the next couple of days ...

The Krewe of Gemini Parade is getting ready for its culmination event tomorrow. Tonight is the float loading party starts at 5:00 today at the Gemini Den on East Texas in Bossier. The parade is tomorrow afternoon at 4:30pm. After the jump you can get the correct map for tomorrow's parade.

The parade route is the same as last year. The parade will start at the "Parade Start" Banner hanging over Clyde Fant Parkway in Downtown Shreveport at 4:30 Saturday afternoon. The floats will proceed on Clyde Fant Parkway towards Shreveport-Barksdale Hwy and turn left on East Kings Hwy, until the “Parade Ends” sign just north of Preston...

Mardi Gras season is definitely here.  The Krewe of Sobek rolled through the Queensboro neighborhood over the weekend.  More than 70 groups took part in the parade and hundreds lined the streets around the fairgrounds to snap up beads and other throws.
