The event encourages all students from all schools to come together, pray and get educated about their rights.

All of our area will observe Friday, August 5 as "Law Enforcement Appreciation Day" and then on Saturday, August 6, the Minden area will host "Prayer at the Park"

The Bossier Parish Sheriff is sticking to his guns. The Young Marine program uses prayer on a voluntary basis, but the Justice Department sent the sheriff a letter saying the prayer is not allowed because federal money is used to support the program.
