The New Dad Blog Of The Day

Ladies and Gentlemen, April 1st, puts my wife and I exactly 2 months away from the arrival of our daughter. I did some research on this day, June 1, my daughter’s day of birth, who does she share her birthday with:

1926: Andy Griffith. This one is special to me, as my Dad gave me a record of Andy Griffith doing his stand up. I played that record until it couldn’t be played any more. It was a record that he grew up with, on that my Grandmother enjoyed. The big one from the album was “What it was, was football”

1926: Marylin Monroe. She is still one of my favorite stories to read about and her pictures have been emblazoned in our history. Though her story is sad, she is still one of the most memorable people that I have ever learned about.

1934: Pat Boone. Yes, I do think Pat Boone is important to mention on her day of birth. He took Little Richard’s “Tutti-Fruiti” and sanitized it so even my Grandparents would enjoy it. He was the guy that the parents would be happy to have date their daughter. He is still a Christian upstanding man, to this day. (and you gotta love he that he sanitized “Enter Sandman” from Metallica)

1947: Ronnie Wood (guitarist from The Rolling Stones) First off this is extra special to me, as The Rolling Stones are my favorite band. I have even met the Stones. I find this exciting because my daughter will be sharing her birthday with a member of the best band of all time.

So that’s just 3 people who I think my daughter will enjoy know that she shares her special day with. There are many many more, but if these people are any indication, she will have humor, beauty and a love (or talent) of music.
