The New Dad Blog Of The Day – Easter Weekend

It is always nice to spend time over a holiday with family. This one was especially nice, as we not only had a family get-together with my parents and aunts, uncles and cousins. Not only was it fun to watch my Mom put together a an Easter Egg hunt for my son and how she really loves being a Grandma.
When the family get together started, my wife was the center of attention, as she is the one with the belly full of baby. The pictures, the stories and laughter is always fun to take part in.
Part of this year’s Easter celebration was a baby shower for the impending birth of my daughter. It was such a wonderful outpouring of love and thoughtfulness that my family showered upon my daughter. The hand-made chair, valance and receiving blankets from my Mom, and the quit from my Mom’s best friend (quite the wonderful surprise) were so wonderful. The pack and play is awesome, so my daughter can come with my wife and with me. I had a huge smile for all the clothes (and hat-tip to my aunt and cousins for the pink socks with skulls on them).
One thing I think everyone can agree on, raising children today isn’t cheap, but with all the wonderful things from our families and friends, this little girl will be set and ready for the first 6 months of her life…thank goodness, as our 4-year old is eating us out of house and home and growing like a weed.
