The New Dad Blog OF The Day – From The Mouth Of Grandma

I talked to my Dad yesterday and I had to laugh at what he told me.
My parents are happily retired and after 40+ years of marriage, they have earned it. Every year they take a summer-long vacation to the North-East and as my Dad was telling me of their trip, he said that they were planning on making a trip through in July, when the head up there, so they can see our kids.
Well, my Dad is a map-monster and everything is on a plan and a time frame (the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree here). So he was going over their return trip and my Dad suggested a new route home to my Mom and what was her response to Dad? “No we aren’t, we are going back through to see the kids again. I want ot hold that baby.”
Gotta love Mom, she was been waiting 41 years for this and she is going to savor every moment. Go for it, Mom.
