This Holiday Season Salvation Army Bell Ringers Will Accept Credit Cards

A sure sign of the coming Christmas season, are the tolling of the Bells in the hands of the Salvation Army Bell Ringers. We'll soon be hearing those bells, calling us to do what we can to help those in need.

This year, thanks to a donation by Sprint, Salvation Army Bell Ringers will be armed with more than bells. They'll be armed with Android Smartphones and stamp sized credit card readers.

This is a great move for the charity, since as we all know less and less of us are actually carrying cash these days.

Unfortunately, this effort will be limited to 10 locations a piece in San Fransisco, Dallas, New York, and Chicago. However, it is a great start to help the Salvation Army generate the $2 billion in revenue it uses annually.
