An email attachment threat that hit work email users across the country on Thursday morning, including at Townsquare Media and Shreveport City Hall, has been resolved.

The cyber threat, dubbed “IRC.Bot,” is a Trojan or worm that used a group of hacked computers, called a 'botnet' to quickly attack multiple computers at once.

Affected computers have since been quarantined and cleared of the infection, according to Townsquare Media IT and Engineering Specialist Troy Jones. The threat has also been cleared from networks and emails.
