What to Do When Caught in a Storm While Driving
Travelers specifies that during gusts and heavy rain is all about patience and being aware.
- make sure there is plenty of space between you and other vehicles.
- turn your lights on.
- slow down.
When it comes to severe storms American Red Cross suggests the following:
- if you know a storm is about to head your way tell someone that you are driving. Tell them where you are, where you are going, and estimated time of arrival.
- Make sure you are listening to the radio so that you know of any weather or traffic alerts that may be around you.
- If you believe you are unable to drive through the weather- pull over turn on flashers.
Nonetheless, be safe out there!
