Have you ever watched an episode of ‘Mad Men’ and admired Don Draper looking ultra cool sipping a whiskey on the rocks?  Don’t try it. You’re not Don Draper. You’re more the ‘whiskey in a sip cup’ kind of fella. Don’t get offended, we recognize our own kind. Maybe you should try a Whiskey Slush first.

The recipe is simple, and if you are like us, you always have a bottle of your favorite whiskey handy for any occasion.  Some might say it’s wrong to keep a bottle on the back of the toilet, but sometimes things get crazy, but we digress.  Here is how to make your Whiskey Slush:

Whiskey Slush

Ingredients

1 (12 fluid ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate
1 (6 ounce) can frozen orange juice concentrate
2 cups strong brewed black tea
1 cup white sugar
2 cups whiskey
7 cups water
1 liter ginger ale soda
2 lemons – cut into wedges, for garnish

Directions

  • In a large plastic container combine lemonade concentrate, orange juice concentrate, tea, sugar, whiskey and water. Mix well and freeze for 24 hours.
  • Scoop into a tall glass, 3/4 full, and pour ginger ale to fill the glass. Stir and garnish with lemon wedges.

Follow the recipe and enjoy.  Just don’t leave the slushies out at a children’s birthday party.  That would be a different kind of recipe, one for disaster, or hilarity.
