I have had to yell at my dog. She has been gnawing on their paws like there's some kind of peanut butter cheese concoction on them. I'm hearing her scratching and licking to where it is driving me nuts. Are you noticing that your dog has watery eyes? It's looking like it's allergy season for your ride or die.

Did you know that seasonal and environmental allergies hit dogs just as hard as they hit humans? Since dogs can't communicate with us, identifying these symptoms as allergies isn’t the easiest of tasks for a dog parent.

Kim Carvalho is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners and is a Clinical Professor at Western University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Carvalho explained that some allergies can actually be harmful to your dog.

When it comes to allergies dogs are just like humans. The list of substances that can be allergens is vast. According to Carvalho, every dog is allergic to different things, some of the most common are pollen, grass, weeds, mold, fungi, and flea saliva.

If your dog has any of these symptoms, make sure you call their vet. This can be very uncomfortable for your pet and in many cases lead to secondary infections.
