I know that 2017 was, in a lot of ways, a "rough" year.  After various disasters both natural and man-made, losing several beloved celebrities, and the emoji movie it can be easy to think that the year was a total loss - but you'd be wrong.  KADN is reporting that as of November of last year, 788 kids were adopted in the Bayou State - that is a huge increase from previous years (in all of 2015 that number was 662), and the numbers for December aren't even in yet!

While that's great news, there are lots of kids that are still looking for a forever home.  According to online resource AdoptUSKids - There are 4,787 children in foster care in Louisiana; 140 of these children are waiting for adoptive families.  If you are interested at all in adoption, foster care, volunteering, or for any reason - check out the resources offered by the Department of Children & Family Services here.
