5-Year-Old Dies In Highland Neighborhood

Police are investigating a vehicle crash that claimed the life of a little girl in Shreveport’s Highland neighborhood..
Police were dispatched to the 600 block of Robinson Place where they found that a GMC pick-up truck driven by 34 year old Kevin Currey of Shreveport was backing out of a driveway on Robinson Place when the vehicle struck a five year old female who was riding a bicycle in that block. The little girl was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department where she was later pronounced deceased. Currey voluntarily accompanied investigators to the Shreveport Police Complex to undergo mandatory testing and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash.
