Brookshire's will be introducing a new brand of grocery stores to East Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas as early as August using the brand name of Spring Market. The company announced the addition of 25 stores to their exsisting portfolio this morning. These new stores will be on the sites of former Walmart Express stores that have recently closed and the company plans on acquiring them in late July.  The company plans on hiring hundreds of employees from the stores' local communities.

Brookshire's chose the name Spring Market to honor the first location of a Brookshire's grocery store on Spring Street in downtown Tyler.

Brookshire's released the following news on Spring Market:

Brookshire Grocery Co. announces the pending acquisition of 25 former Walmart Express stores. The stores will open this summer as the company’s new Spring Market brand. The acquisition is scheduled to close in July.

The name “Spring Market” represents and honors the company’s great history which began in 1928 with the opening of its first store on Spring Avenue in Tyler, Texas.

The stores will offer hometown convenience in an easy to shop format with a surprising assortment of products at highly competitive prices.

“Brookshire Grocery Company is already known throughout our market areas for having great stores and we are confident that our customers in these new markets will feel the exact same way.
