Caddo Parish officials are continuing to monitor conditions on the Red River in anticipation of a 29.5-foot crest expected by late tomorrow afternoon, said Sheriff Steve Prator, director of the Caddo Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.

The projection was announced today by the National Weather Service. Minor flood stage for the river is 30 feet.

The COHSEP has begun making emergency phone notifications advising residents in potentially-impacted areas of the NWS projection.

Sandbags are available at the Caddo Parish Department of Public Works at 1501 Monty Street in Shreveport from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
