Kellie Rasberry gets down to the nitty gritty of the biggest stories of the day with the Showbiz Top 5 on the KVKI Kidd Kraddick Morning Show!

5. The Oscar nominations were announced this morning and with 14 nominations, “La La Land” tied “Titanic” and “All About Eve” for the record of having the most nominations by a single film. Obviously, “La La Land” is up for Best Picture, going up against “Arrival,” “Fences,” “Hacksaw Ridge,” “Hell or High Water,” “Hidden Figures,” “Manchester by the Sea,” “Lion,” and “Moonlight.” Up for Best Actor are Casey Affleck (“Manchester by the Sea”), Denzel Washington (“Fences”), Ryan Gosling (“La La Land”), Andrew Garfield (“Hacksaw Ridge”) and Joel Edgerton (“Loving”). Nominated for Best Actress are Natalie Portman (“Jackie”), Emma Stone (“La La Land”), Amy Adams (“Arrival”), Meryl Streep (“Florence Foster Jenkins”) and Ruth Negga (“Loving”).

4. I thought Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick had reunited and made another baby together? Were we deceived? Or is it all falling apart? Scott Disick is in Sundance where he’s apparently been closing down the pop-up Tao nightclub every night. A source says that after the club shuts down, Scott throws wild parties back at his rental house, complete with all the hoochies in the hot tub. The source says Scott only goes out at night, staying up partying until 7am and then sleeping all day.

3. If you haven’t figured out “Bachelor” contestant Corrine is totally faking it for the cameras, here’s this… So yesterday, there was speculation that Nick Viall picked Corrine because she’s wearing an engagement ring. It turns out she’s really good friends with a comedienne named Claudia Oshry, who is better known as the “Girl With No Job” on Instagram. Claudia explained that she recently got engaged and was hanging out with some girlfriends Friday night, letting all her girlfriends try her ring on. And then there’s Corinne’s mom, who told TMZ that before Corinne went on “The Bachelor” she decided, “You can be two people — the winner or the villain.” Obviously, Corinne figured she’d have a better shot playing the villain and her mom says she “took it to the limits.” She said most everything was fake and staged for the cameras, including the topless bridal photo shoot. She said her daughter had coverups on. And when you assumed she was naked under the trench coat, she had a bathing suit on most of the time.

2. BABIES! BABIES! BABIES! Mel Gibson has welcomed his ninth child, who is also his first with his girlfriend, Rosalind Ross. It’s a boy and they named him Lars Gerard Gibson. Actress Amy Smart and her model/handyman husband Carter Oosterhouse announced that after years of infertility struggles, they now have a beautiful baby girl named Flora, thanks to their loving surrogate. “Shahs of Sunset” star Asa Soltan Rahmati and her longtime boyfriend Jermaine Jackson Jr. now have a little boy they named Soltan Jackson. And at risk of making you feel old, little Rudy Huxtable is a mommy! Keshia Knight Pulliam has welcomed a baby girl, Ella Grace. Her husband, Ed Hartwell, filed for divorce from Keshia back in July, one week after she announced she was pregnant.

1. Dennis Quaid talked to Entertainment Tonight about the controversy surrounding his new movie “A Dog’s Purpose.” Dennis said, “I never saw any abuse of any animal. If there had been, I would have walked.” He said, “That video that someone took and sold for money and held on to for a year and a half until right before the film’s coming out, does not tell the whole story. First of all, it’s been edited and manipulated. And I think it’s a scam, to tell you the truth.” Dennis said the incident happened towards the end of the day and he didn’t think the dog was frightened. He said, “The dog was acting like a dog who was kind of tired of taking a bath and was ready to get out. And, in fact, that’s what happened. They took the dog out.” The author of the book on which the movie is based agreed. On the book’s official Facebook page, W. Bruce Cameron’s rep posted his statement saying, “The written commentary accompanying the edited video mischaracterizes what happened.” He said he’s seen all of the footage, including what was shot earlier in the day, and it shows the dog “joyfully jumping in the pool.” Cameron said, “When he was asked to perform the stunt from the other side of the pool, which was not how he had been doing it all day, he balked. The mistake was trying to dip the dog in the water to show him it was okay — the water wasn’t his issue, it was the location that was the issue, and the dog happily did the stunt when he was allowed to return to his original spot.” And, like Dennis, he questions the timing of this video’s release. He asked, “If the people who shot and edited the video thought something was wrong, why did they wait fifteen months to do anything about it, instead of immediately going to the authorities?”
