A new behind-the-scenes promo clip posted on the official Grease Live! Twitter page showcases the sounds, the looks, and the faces behind Fox's upcoming live television production of the iconic musical. And while live televised musicals have garnered somewhat of a bad rap over the past few years, with NBC's disappointing productions of The Sound of Music Live! (2013) and Peter Pan Live! (2014) leading the pack, there's something refreshing about both Fox's casting and energy of the network's forthcoming live production of Grease that makes us believe there may be some hope for the modern live televised musical after all.

"Grease is music, Grease is dance, Grease is exuberance, Grease is the word," executive producer Marc Platt shares in the beginning of the joyful clip, as promotional footage of the core cast in costume plays in the background. "Our intention is to take the best of the film, draw a little bit upon the stage production, and emerge with our own refreshed but true Grease," Platt says, adding that Fox's take on the classic retro-American musical will be both "live and contemporary" and "fresh and colorful."

Based on the promo we've seen so far, this seems to be the case, with actors, dancers, and even pop artists including Julianne Hough, Keke Palmer, Vanessa Hudgens, and Carly Rae Jepsen among others all coming together to create a colorful, bright, fresh-faced and unexpectedly well-selected cast.

"I love everything about a live show and the adrenaline you get from doing something live," a costumed Julianne Hough, Grease Live!'s resident Sandy Olsson, gushes in the video, giving viewers a glimpse of Hough's sassy, black-clad, post-Pink Ladies makeover Sandy.

"[As] soon as I put my costume on I started to find my Rizzo," Vanessa Hudgens, playing the Pink Ladies' HBIC, also shares in the clip. Hudgen's casting is particularly well-suited, considering her name to fame was Disney Channel's High School Musical and Grease is literally a, well, musical about high school.

That said, we can't wait to tune in to Fox on Sunday, January 31 to see these crazy kids do their summer-lovin' thing.
