Is this the 2017 version of "Don't sit so close to the TV or you'll go blind"?

A celebrity dermatologist in Los Angeles is now claiming that you should put on a layer of sunscreen while looking at your phone or browsing on the computer.

Yes. This is real. Someone who is technically an "expert" in their field recommends it.

Dr. Howard Murad is the doc in question, and his client list is pretty stout. Celebs like Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift trust him with their skin, but do they even believe this nonsense?

According to Dr. Murad, four days in front of screens is the equivalent of spending 20 minutes in direct sun. Of course, he isn't recommending you absolutely douse yourself in sunscreen every time you pick up your phone, but he does believe you should apply sunscreen at least once a day.
