The word of the week is; Delayed.

It seems like we've heard the word delay quite a bit this week. Louisiana's eventual progression into Phase Three has been delayed by three more weeks. Bars opening in our state have been delayed indefinitely. Now, high school football in our state as jumped on the delay train.

This week, LHSAA delayed the start of football and all other fall sports yet again. Now, the goal is to kick-off on October 8th, although if the LHSAA is taking tips from Governor John Bel Edwards, I'd imagine it could very well delayed once again.

Generally speaking, right now high school football in our state would be ramping up as the regular season would be quickly approaching. You just have to feel for the student-athletes, especially the seniors, who have worked so hard to get to this season.

I will certainly keep my fingers crossed that the start of high school football, as well as other Fall sports isn't delayed again. Sure, it doesn't sound fun to wait a few more weeks to get to October 8th, but if the October 8th start means we'll have a better chance at getting a full and safe high school football season in, I am definitely all for it.

We'll update you if and when any new announcements are made by the LHSAA.
