Louisiana AG Subpoenas Fauci In Free Speech Collusion Case

The Attorneys General from Louisiana and Missouri are closing in on officials from the Biden Administration. Louisiana Republican Attorney General Jeff Landry and Missouri Republican Attorney General Eric Schmitt have issued subpoenas to National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases leader Dr. Anthony Fauci, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, other Biden administration officials, along with five social media companies in their legal case over collusion to suppress free speech.

This comes just days after a US District Judge ruled that the case can proceed into their discovery phase. Now, those who have been served subpoenas have 30 days to respond. The AGs are asking for communications between officials and social media companies, details on any meetings that took place between officials and those companies, as well as topics that may have been discussed during any of these meetings.

According to a release from Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, the list of officials subpoenaed includes Dr. Anthony Fauci and the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Jen Easterly and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, and Nina Jankowicz (short lived Executive Director of the federal Disinformation Governance Board).

The social media companies who have also been subpoenaed include Twitter, Youtube, Meta (Facebook), Instagram, and Linkedin.

According to the AGs, the accusations in this case center around government officials colluding with social media companies to suppress free speech thought their platforms. Previously, evidence of these types of acts were revealed through media reports. Including emails obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests that show high level officials shutting down conversations through their contacts.
