It's the largest film festival in the Ark-La-Tex so don't miss out on getting your tickets!

Louisiana Film Prize Festival is easily one of my favorite events to attend every year in Shreveport, Louisiana. I've always been a fan of film and this festival gives you 20 spectacular short films, music and food. And tickets have officially gone on sale at prizefest.org.

We also know when this year's festival will take place.

Each Fall, LA Film Prize takes over downtown Shreveport for five days. In that time, we see 20 of the best short films from across the country on the big screen. In addition, various bands compete in Louisiana Music Prize and we see some of the best chefs duke it out in Louisiana Food Prize.

This year's festival, Prize Fest, will take place Thursday, October 4 through Sunday, October 8.

What started as a small get together of 400 or so people, has blossomed to a must-see experience that attracts close to 5,000 people each year. 2017 marks year number six for the prize and in those short years they have brought in millions of dollars of economic impact to Northwest Louisiana. Filmmakers from all across the country flock to this festival each year with more than 150 short films being submitted for consideration.

Rule number one is that you have to shoot your film in Northwest Louisiana.

The winning film takes home $50,000 and is determined by 50 percent public vote and 50 percent panel of judges. Believe me when I say, you need to check this baby out! And this year's all-inclusive Prize Fest combo pass will get you in to see everything, Film Prize, Music Prize and Food Prize.

The combo pass is just $50.

Purchase your tickets at prizefest.org. Film Prize passes are $30 and Music Prize passes are $30 individually.
