More Construction Will Close The I-220 E to I-20 East Ramp This Week
Motorists again this week will need to make alternate plans if your normal nightly travel will take you through the I-220 East to I-20 East exit ramp.
According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, this Wednesday night, October 27, the I-220 eastbound to I-20 eastbound ramp in Bossier Parish will be closed.
This ramp closure is scheduled to take place from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am, and is necessary to allow the contractor for the I-20/I-220/BAFB Interchange access project to pour the concrete deck on the new bridge.
This construction has been ongoing for the past several months and I'm sure there are many more closures/detours in our future before it's complete, but please keep in mind, even this closure, which is currently on schedule, could be postponed at the last minute, as the work can only be done if the weather permits.
The DOTD reminds us that detour signage will be in place, and if this event is much like others, police personnel will be on site enforcing the closure.
The DOTD has also issued this Safety Reminder:
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
