It's time to let loose and run through the sprinklers!

It's hot. Actually it's hotter than hot. It's sizzling our there in Shreveport-Bossier. July is when we start getting really creative on ways to beat the heat. When I was a kid, we would drag the trampoline over to the middle of the lawn. My parents would run the sprinkler to water the lawn and us kids at the same time. It's one of my favorite summer pastimes as a kid. Afterward we'd come inside to chocolate malts served in our favorite color-changing Rugrats cups.

Ahh the good ole days.

R.W. Norton Art Gallery is allowing us the same joy this weekend with their "Sprinkler Day!" They'll be watering their gorgeous lawns and want you to come join in on the fun. For two hours you'll have freedom to run and play in the sprinklers. Oh, and the kids can too! (Sorry, I was mostly speaking to the adults who are dying to do this).

The sprinklers will run on the South Lawn from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. this Saturday, July 23 Bring your towels, chairs, sunscreen and entire family. It's free and open to the public.
