This time of year things are really starting to heat up. If you have a four-legged friend, you know to never leave them in a parked car. Tomorrow has a heat index of around 105, so in a car, your pooch just can't survive. Also, be mindful that they are walking around essentially barefoot.

That's one thing that might just slip your mind. The hot pavement can really do a number on their little feet. Not only does this apply to hot pavement, but there is also a danger associated with any hot surface they are standing on. Your truck bed, wood, metal, sand, and anything that is out in the sun is soaking up that blistering heat.

I was amazed to find that there were lots of products for dogs to save their pads. Some of them look like press on little grippy sneaker bottoms. You can avoid this altogether by walking your dog early in the morning before things start heating up. Even a pair of booties would be a great way to start. If you can get your dog to wear them. Get outside and soak up the sun with your favorite pooch, just mind the paws.
