Ruston, Louisiana Man Cashes In Pennies Collected For 45 Years

Find a penny, pick it up. All day long you'll have good luck!

That’s what 73-year-old Otha Anders from Ruston, Louisiana did. And he picked up A LOT of pennies for more than 45 years.

In fact, 45 years and fifteen plastic water jugs later Anders said,

“I became convinced that spotting a lost or dropped penny was an additional God-given incentive reminding me to always be thankful,” said Anders, 73. “There have been days where I failed to pray and more often than not, a lost or dropped penny would show up to remind me.”

The question is:"How much is 15 water jugs filled with pennies worth?" After five hours of counting a half a million pennies, the count came to $5,136.14 and it was enough for him to pay of a dental bill.

Just goes to show you that the little things add up!
