KVKI teams up with the City of Shreveport and the Red River District for "Nights of a Thousand Lights” and the first ever “Holiday Under the Bridge.”

It's free and open to the public. It all kicks off tonight at 6:00 pm in the Red River District under theTexas Street Bridge.  The event will actually encompass two weekends of free holiday festivities where visitors will witness a visual and audio artistic creation that celebrates the holidays!

Under the design direction of local Christmas lighting enthusiast, Owen Holman, thousands of lights will dance to the music played in the District creating a merry holiday atmosphere.

Stacy Brown, President of Shreveport-Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau, shares, “We are delighted to be a part of bringing the holiday spirit to Downtown Shreveport.  These events give visitors another reason to come during this special time of year.  The added incentive of an exclusive shopping booklet, adds to the list of reasons to stay one more night in Shreveport-Bossier City!”

Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover and other city officials will kick off the evening with a brief press conference announcing the Holiday festivities, followed by the “flipping of the switch” that will light up the Red River District.  Good News, a local Shreveport band, will take over the stage for a high-energy musical performance blended with holiday songs until 8:00 pm.

Leading up to Christmas, each Friday and Saturday night, December 13 and 14 and December 20 and 21 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, the lights will dance to live music performed on the Red River District stage.
