UPDATED on January 17, 2023

There's some good news for crawfish lovers today. More local business now have crawfish available. Only a few spots have live crawfish by the sack if you are planning to host a crawfish boil in Shreveport or Bossier.

And of course, the prices are pretty steep. You will find live crawfish selling for somewhere between $5 and $7 dollars a pound. If you are looking for boiled crawfish, get ready to pay a premium.

We did find more spots now selling crawfish and more spots will soon be opening up. That should help drive the prices down quickly.

But right now, you will pay between $7.99 and $11.99 a pound for boiled crawfish. I just can't think about paying that much for mudbugs. I would recommend you give your favorite spot a call before you venture out, because most places will probably sell out each weekend.

This time last year, you could find crawfish in Shreveport Bossier for about $8 a pound. And in 2021, we were paying about $6 a pound. So I can only believe inflation must be playing a part, but that's not the only issue. The weather is probably having an impact on prices as well.
