For the first time all season, the Mudbugs were swept on home ice.

Well, you don't see this very often. In fact, I can't remember the last time the Shreveport Mudbugs were swept at home. Going into this weekend's games, the 'Bugs had only lost twice all season on home ice.

Taking on the visiting Topeka Pilots, the boys found themselves in deep holes early on both nights. Just three minutes into the second period on Friday night, the 'Bugs found themselves at a 4-0 deficit. They made it interesting for sure, but ultimately lost 5-3.

Saturday night, in front of a smaller crowd than normal (thanks LSU Tigers), the Bugs went down 3-0 in the first period. They rallied and made this an exciting one, but couldn't quite complete the comeback losing 3-2.

The good news is that the mudbugs don't have to wait long for redemption. They're back on home ice both Friday and Saturday night this upcoming weekend.
