Shreveport Road Closures for Filming of ‘Olympus Has Fallen’

Watch out for gun fire, smoke, explosions and snipers on the roof! Okay, so its only a movie, but you may hear loud noises Monday in the form of sound effects for "Olympus Has Fallen." And they'll be sounding on and off all day. You may also get stuck in traffic because of road closures Monday.

Weather permitting, there will be filming and traffic interruptions from 6 a.m. until noon on Marshall Street between Texas Street and Travis Street. Now from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., traffic will be stopped on Edwards Street between Texas Street and Travis Street.

Monday night from 6 to 9 p.m., expect delays on Texas Street between Marshall Street.

Movie filming is scheduled to continue on Tuesday, if its not raining on McNeill Street from 5:30 to 9 a.m. You may experience delays as well on Marshall Street between Texas Street and Travis Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Crews will also be filiming on Edwards Street between Texas Street and Travis Street from 6 am to noon. Watch for crews on Texas Street between McNeill Street and Louisiana Avenue from 9 am until 2 pm.

There will also be interruptions on McNeill Street between Texas Street and Travis Street and on Marshall Street between Texas Street and Milam Street from 1 to2 p.m.

McNeill Street will be closed between Texas Street and Travis Street from 5:30 pm until 9 pm.

Expect delays on Wednesday on Texas Street between Marshall Street and McNeill Street, weather permitting, from 5:30 until 9 a.m. There will also be interruptions on Milam Street between Marshall Street and McNeill Street from 5:30  until 11 a.m.

Blocked traffic on Travis Street between Edwards Street and Marshall Street from 5:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Now, don't freak out because you may see some gun snipers on several rooftops of buildings downtown around the Caddo Parish Courthouse. They're only actors, and you may see them shooting rifles and scenes from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Problems will occurr on Cotton Street between Common Street and Louisiana Avenue also one lane will be closed between 11 am and 3 pm.

Traffic delays are expected on McNeill Street between Texas Street and Travis Street.

You're asked to avoid these roadways and alternate routes.

The production company and city officials apologize for any inconvenience due to traffic tie-ups.
