You might be asking yourself why we're looking at the draft stock of Daniel Jones. He's not from Louisiana, he's not an LSU, Louisiana Tech, or ULM player. He's not being projected to go to the New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys, or Houston Texans.

So what are we doing?

Daniel Jones was the starting quarterback for Duke since 2016, which includes the 2018 Independence Bowl in Shreveport. Where he racked up an incredible 423 yards, 5 passing touchdowns, and a rushing touchdown in a 56-27 win over Temple. Something that was more impressive than just the stats, it was a moment where a first round NFL draft prospect actually played in his team's bowl game.

Jones could be the highest Independence Bowl quarterback drafted since Ryan Tannehill in 2012. Tannehill was taken #8 overall out of Texas A&M by the Miami Dolphins. He played in the 2009 Indy Bowl.

Looking at some of the national mock drafts, Jones' projections are all falling in the same area:

Fox Sports: #15 Washington Redskins

NBC Sports: #17 New York Giants

NFL Network: #19 Tennessee Titans

Bleacher Report: #15 Washington Redskins

The Redskins are rumored to be looking at a trade to get them into the Top 5, which would likely be for Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins and not Jones.

New York could be looking to find Eli Manning's replacement (which is interesting, because Manning is a former Indy Bowl QB too), and the Redskins need to find Alex Smith's likely heir, but the Titans seem like a total wildcard here (since they have Marcus Mariota already).
