Mother nature had teased us with a chance of rain the last two days.
Then, on the day with the least chance for rain, we got rain... Plus wind and lightning.
But, no matter how the rain came, I'm just glad it came. Heck, I'd almost forgotten what that liquid from the sky was!!!
The Weather Channel is projecting a major change for our weather by Labor Day. In fact, the high temperatures will only reach 90 degrees on Friday, September 2nd.
Today we have our best chance of getting rain in a long, long time, but it's only 30%.

Another August day, and we break another heat record. We did a little checking about rain and heat and we were quite surprised by what we found:
This seems unprecidented. I lived in Dallas in 2003 and I believe we had more than 100 days in a row that the temperature was over 100. It's so memorable because in Dallas when the temperature is that high its public transit system initiates "Ozone Action Day."

Not only has the weather been creating a high demand on the power grid, it's also placing a huge demand on the water systems.
The city of Shreveport today asked residents to voluntarily conserve water. That way, there won't be a need for any mandatory measures.

Due to some equipment failure, the outage could last until tomorrow (Friday) morning!
Now, SWEPCO is trying to avoid the use of rolling blackouts for the rest of us.
They are asking everyone to conserve power by turning off unnecessary lighting or electric appliances... and to limit use of you air conditioning by setting the thermostat up to 80.
Stormy Dog, flickrSharks get a bad rap and if you’ve ever been attacked by one, you’d probably say they deserve it. But here’s the rub: If you haven’t been attacked by a shark, chances are you never will.

'Ol Mother Nature has really been turning up the heat here in the Ark-La-Tex!
When was the last day we didn't reach close to 100?
As Robert said this morning, once you reach triple digits, it doesn't matter if it's 100 or 105... It's just plain hot!
