A telethon benefitting Christian Service Program of Shreveport-Bossier is set for later this month.

It'll air on Comcast Cable Channel 6 from noon until 6 p.m. Sunday, December 18.

According to a news release, funds raised during the telethon will be used to help the organization move to the new Hope Connections facility and build the new kitchen, clothing area and administrative offices. Donations will also be used for ongoing daily needs, like food, clothing and help with utility bills for the hungry and homeless in our area.

Groundbreaking at the new location on Levy Street in Shreveport was held this past September. Christian Service was founded in 1970, when Sister Margaret McCaffrey started feeding hungry children breakfast down behind First Methodist Church.
