Matt Damon, star of the new movie "Elysium," is our Hump Day Hunk this week. He still has that youthful look, but has been an A-list movie star for 20 years.

HIS START

Damon got his start in some small roles in the late 80's. You might have spotted him in the Julia Roberts movie, "Mystic Pizza." His breakthrough role came in the 1996 movie "Courage Under Fire," where he played a drug addicted soldier. He had to lose 40 pounds for the role.

HIS RISE TO THE A-LIST

Damon's big break came in the 1997 film, "Good Will Hunting." He helped write the script for this movie with his buddy, Ben Affleck. The pair won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. This opened many doors for both of these big stars.

My favorite Matt Damon film has to be "Saving Private Ryan." This is such a moving tribute to all the men and women who fought for our country in WW2. He's had some fun starring with buddies, George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt in the Ocean's 11 series of films. These are not masterpieces, but are quite fun to watch.  He is probably most recognizable for his role as the assassin in "The Bourne Trilogy". A whole new audience has come to appreciate his work.

NEW MOVIE

Matt Damon stars with Jodie Foster in the new movie "Elysium," which looks to be quite interesting. It is a futuristic film about a world where there is no sickness and no real human problems if you're rich.
