Firefighters from Caddo Fire Districts #1, 3, 4, and 7 along with Harrison County, Karnack, Big Lake Fire Departments worked with the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry to contain a rekindle of a fire that Harrison County firefighters battled most of the day.  “We kept it from getting into Louisiana,” said Dan Cotten, Caddo Fire District One Chief and incident commander.  “Everyone worked together to keep loss of property to a minimum even keeping several tank batteries from becoming involved.”

There are no estimates at this time of the amount of acreage involved, but officials will assess from the air in the morning. There are no reports of structural damage and no one was injured.

Reports of falling ash were reported as far east as the Pines Road and I-20 corridor into the evening.
