Goodbye Jan Berenstain

You may not have heard the story, but a lot of us who learned to read through the Berenstain Bear books series lost a part of our youth yesterday. One of the co-creators of the Berenstain Bears, Jan Berenstain, passed away at the age of 86.

The series of books have been had many wonderful adventures for kids who were learning and we learned some wonderful (and universal) lessons in sharing and other stories of family values.

Later the Bearenstain Bears were turned into cartoons and had a couple of movie adventures that a lot of us have been lucky enough to share with our children.

Thank you Jan Berenstain for helping me learn some wonderful life lessons as a kid and thank you for giving me the opportunity to share it with my son.

Jan, you will be missed, but your stories will live on for the rest of history.
