I don't think that anyone walks down the aisle with the end in mind. With that being said, life happens and some couples aren't able to work it out. That results in lots of single parents and in this instance, we're looking at single moms. It turns out that Shreveport wasn't as bad as I thought it would be with regard to single motherhood, but it's certainly not great according to WalletHub.com.

Overall, when it comes to being a single mom, Shreveport, LA ranks 108th out of the 150 cities studied. Economic and social wellbeing was factured in the final score as well as how child-friendly the city was.

So how did Shreveport rank with regard to economic and social wellbeing? Not so well. We're 122nd out of 150. When it comes to being a child-friendly city, we do a little better, ranking 72nd.

According to WalletHub.com, Baton Rouge is a much better locale for single moms, ranking 27th. Even New Orleans scored better than Shreveport, coming in at 105th place. At least we're better than Las Angeles, CA?!?! I for one, firmly believe that it's time we made conditions better for women in Louisiana. Let's start with the gender pay gap!
