The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Department knows that firearm education and safety is incredibly important...not only for adults, but for our youth as well. Therefore,  the sheriff's department is offering the Caddo Sheriff's Youth Firearms Safety Education Camp and space is available.

Louisiana is known as the Sportsman's Paradise and hunting is a very important part of life here in the South. With that in mind, there is still time to sign your child up for the FREE Caddo Sheriff's Youth Firearms Education Camp.

The camp is currently underway running from June 16th - June 20th and spaces are still available for June 18-20.

Boys and girls ages 10-14 can select one day during the week to join Caddo deputies on the firing range for supervised firearms safety education and .22 rifle target shooting. Campers will learn rural and urban survival skills, water safety and defensive techniques to protect against stranger abduction.

Camp sessions are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and transportation is available if needed.

Applications for the Firearms Camp can be obtained online at www.caddosheriff.org or picked up at any Caddo Sheriff's Office substation, Caddo Correctional Center or Sheriff's Safety Town.
