The New Dad Blog Of The Day – Valentine’s Day

Well, here we are Valentine's Day and what do you get the little one who hasn't been born yet? After much thought and driving around, it was hard to do.  So I decided, what could I get my wife (Mommy) something that she AND the baby may enjoy?....and then it hit me.

Some people may think I didn't think about this very hard, but let me tell you, I have been thinking about this for days.  Others may say that all I did was think about what I could get that we could share. Share, yes...but not with me.  This one is all about Mom and the baby...and of course my son.

After I gave my son his card, which had a nice little gift that he enjoyed, I gave my wife her card...and she chuckled. So then I said, "your gift is in the freezer". And she had this puzzled look on her face. You see my wife LOVES ice cream (as does our son)...and she is always saying that she is having cravings for things that are "cakey" (I am guessing that is a word, but that's the word she uses.) So I got her an Ice Cream Cake!!!! Satisfy 2 cravings in one fell swoop...High Five to me!

One thing I am sure of, my soon-to-be born daughter loves to tell her Mommy when it is time to eat...so that is the one thing I can do, satisfy the desire for the baby and my wife's cravings.

Then I had a wonderful Daddy moment, after getting my card and chocolate from my son, opening the gift from my wife which had a little onsie from my soon-to-be-born daughter to me. I am speechless...and that takes a lot.  And the shirt you see in the picture above? Well, my wife made sure that I now have one and I will be wearing it with pride.
