Ragnar may be drinking ale from curved horns in the halls of Valhalla, but Vikings star Travis Fimmel has plenty more work ahead. The former king will star, write and produce in a new History anthology series exploring the anti-heroes of history, beginning with Wyatt Earp.

Per Deadline, Fimmel is working with the A+E network for a scripted anthology series following history’s “iconic sinners and anti-heroes.” The former Vikings star is attached to executive produce and star in the first season as Wyatt Earp, having written the first episode as well.

The Wyatt Earp season will “track his life from his days in the violent Dodge City and his complex relationships with Doc Holliday and Bat Masterson, to the real story of what happened during the legendary gunfight at the OK Corral,” while Fimmel himself says of the project:

I’ve always been fascinated with what motivates people’s transgressions and the scandalous journey into infamy. I wanted to re-examine stories people think they know without the rose-colored glasses of Hollywood and let the audience decide for themselves if people like Wyatt Earp were sinners or victims of life circumstances.

History has not set a timetable for the new series, but will Wyatt Earp prove so breakout a role as Ragnar?
