Did you keep a diary in high school? Now, imagine 15 or 20 or even 25 years later you get up stage and read it to an audience of strangers. You're thinking, "Never in a million tears!" Yet. that's the concept of a wildly successful - and hysterical - documentary film called, "Mortified Nation".

Directed by Mike Mayer, "Mortified Nation" has been described as "a documentary about adults who share their most embarrassing, private childhood writings". The film blends performance footage of these public confessions and the growing popularity of "Mortified" stage shows. One reviewer said, "Transporting viewers back to a time of awkward firsts-- first love, first rejection, first total freak out-- the film captures the adolescent experience in a way few of us truly remember and most of us tried to forget."

As the "Mortified Nation" website says, "You're not the only one who had an awkward phase."
