Apple blocked 'Fortnite' from their App Store today for violating guidelines of the marketplace. 'Fortnite' and Epic Games have retaliated with legal action and has also launched a website and commercial against Apple.

'Fortnite' announced the news via Twitter and you can see the information below @FortniteGame

The commercial included in the post from the official 'Fortnite' Twitter account plays on an old Apple Advertisement that you can check out here.

Apple released a statement of their own which you can see below in a Tweet posted by @reckless

Per the website that Epic Games has launched on behalf of their bread-winning title, 'Fortnite', Apple told the gaming company to “remove the ‘Epic direct payment’ feature” and has removed the ability for Apple users to download the game on iOS devices.

The 'Fortnite' team is quite transparent with their beliefs writing, "Apple is keeping prices high so they can collect 30% of your payments, and is blocking Fortnite in order to prevent Epic from passing on the savings from direct payments to you!". The site also notes that they have taken legal action against Apple.

While the popular battle royale style game is still available on Google Play, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, GeForce Now, and the Epic Games app on Android, it is a major setback for Epic Games to not have their game available on Apple Devices.

The final quote in the attack ad on Apple from 'Fortnite' reads, "Epic Games has defied the App Store Monopoly. In retaliation, Apple is blocking Fortnite from a billion devices. Join the fight to stop 2020 from becoming '1984'".
