Funeral arrangements have been released for Fire Captain/Paramedic Ralph Parker, III. The service will be taking place at 10a.m. at Summer Grove Baptist church on Jewella Avenue, following will be a procession to the New Hope church in Montgomery LA.

Shreveport Fire Department is sad to announce the passing of Fire Captain/Paramedic Ralph Parker, III. Captain Parker was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer in late February 2021. Captain Parker passed on the evening of June 7, 2021.

Captain Parker started the training academy in March of 1990. He proudly served at the ranks of Firefighter, Fire Engineer, and Fire Captain throughout his 31 plus years of service. Captain Parker was a true servant that served alongside several family members. His death will be recognized by the International Association of Fire Fighters as a cancer-related Line of Duty of Death. His name will be placed on the Fallen Firefighter Memorial Wall, in 2022, in Colorado Springs.

Arrangements:

Visitation: June 10, 2021 (Thursday), 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Service: June 11, 2021 (Friday) @ 10:00 a.m.

Visitation and Service will be held at Summer Grove Baptist Church (8924 Jewella Ave, Shreveport, LA 71118)
