KVKI’s 80s and 90s Feel Good Favorites All Memorial Day Weekend
Get ready Shreveport-Bossier City, because KVKI is bringing back all your feel-good favorites from the 80s and 90s all Memorial Day weekend long!
Starting this Friday, May 24th, 2024, at 3 pm with Bristol, we're returning to the '80s! Prepare for a nostalgic journey filled with Swatch watches, Cabbage Patch Kids, and break dancing. We're bringing back all your favorite '80s and '90s hits and keeping the totally awesome tunes rolling through Monday, May 27th on Memorial Day at 7 pm when Delilah takes over. Are you ready to revisit the decade that gave us friendship bracelets, Care Bears, and Miami Vice? We are! Get ready for a weekend of retro fun!
In the '80s, we were all about Nintendo, Garbage Pail Kids, and asking "Where's the Beef?" like Clara Peller. Remember those crazy trends like slap bracelets, penny loafers, Jelly shoes, and hyper-colored shirts? Yeah, we're not sure what we were thinking either! And let's not forget our idols Madonna, Prince, Michael Jackson, and Duran Duran.
Then came the '90s with the introduction of AOL and the phrase, 'You've got mail,' and the heartache we felt when our Tamagotchi digital pets died. Frosted hair was in for both men and women, and we didn't miss a minute of the saga of Rachel and Ross on Friends, wondering if they'd ever reconcile. Oh, the memories!
Make sure you catch all the pop-culture fun served up on a platter this weekend as KVKI celebrates with non-stop '80s and '90s super hits. And wherever your weekend adventures lead you, don't forget to bring 96.5 KVKI with you using the free KVKI app.
