It started out with fumbling in the rain, but ended up another huge victory for the Byrd Yellowjackets as they beat Captain Shreve Thursday night, 35-10.

Byrd's quarterback, No. 7 Richard Carthon scored three touchdowns.

There were four turnovers in the first half because of the rain, but Byrd came up with the ball enough to remain undefeated at 8-0 - a great way for the Beehive to end its annual rivalry.

The Captain Shreve Gators drop to 4-5 for the year, 1-3 in district play.

According to stats, Byrd has now won 17 of its last 18 games against Shreve.

The Yellowjackets take on the Airline Vikings Friday night, Nov. 4th at Lee Hedges. It will be the final regular season game for Byrd, before they host the first playoff game, Friday, Nov. 11th.
