Parents and Students Not Happy About New School Lunch Guidelines [VIDEO]
Have you heard much about the new school lunch guidelines? Nutrition changes are on the way in all public schools and the protests are starting already. Parents are not happy about one particular change that restricts how many calories can be served.
Check out this parody video done by some teens:
A new federal rule sets maximums for school lunches it's 850 for high school students, 700 for middle schoolers and 650 at the elementary level. But protesters say 850 calories isn’t enough for some high-schoolers, especially those who are active and can burn thousands of calories a day.
Schools will also have to incorporate more fruits and vegetables. The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 is now being phased in across the country.
