The Beatles’ First Ed Sullivan Show Appearance: 50 years Ago Sunday (Video)

50 years ago Sunday The Beatles made their first American television appearance on CBS’s “The Ed Sullivan Show”. I was a 6th grade kid in Birmingham, Alabama and my knowledge of the group came mostly from the girls in my class, who already had Beatles records, magazines and all other available paraphernalia. According to them The Beatles were the most talented, the cutest, the most amazing…and on February 9th, 1964, John, Paul, George and Ringo showed the USA that my twelve year old classmates at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School were absolutely right.

Here’s the first of four songs they sang that night, their first ever on American TV: “All My Lovin”.
