The Bossier City Fire Department is once again joining the fight against breast cancer through the sales of specially-designed t-shirts.

Proceeds from the shirts will go to our local Susan G. Komen affiliate, just in time for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

This year's shirts are available in three colors -- pink, royal blue and heather blue -- and feature the breast cancer awareness ribbon with a firefighter's helmet and fire hose nozzle attached to it. The lettering and graphics are pink, the color symbolizing breast cancer awareness.

The shirts are available to the public for $10 each in sizes from youth extra small to adult 4X. They can be ordered by calling 318-741-8700 on weekdays during normal business hours.

Customers can pay for their shirts when they pick them up at the BCFD Administrative Offices at 620 Benton Road. They're being sold through October 15.

This is the third year the department is selling these special shirts to benefit Susan G. Komen.
