Children’s Miracle Network ‘Meet the Kids Monday’ : Turner [PHOTO]
Next week we are hosting our first Miracle Makers Radiothon for Children's Miracle Network to help children right here in Shreveport-Bossier. Let's meet one of them now, Turner.
We have partnered with the wonderful Children’s Miracle Network to help out the two Christus Health locations in Shreveport-Bossier. The beautiful thing about Children’s Miracle Network is that no child or family is ever turned way.
For those of you unfamiliar with the national organization, their goal is to help children’s hospitals and families across the country. The money can virtually be used for anything, whether it be hospital bills, transportation, child care, equipment, or anything else that can help these kids get healthy and help their families throughout the process. The money is also used for school programs or the School Based Health Center at Woodlawn Academy, for example.
Here’s the best part. Anything donated to Children’s Miracle Network in Shreveport-Bossier, will stay in Shreveport-Bossier and benefit families in our own backyard.
We’ll be hosting “The Miracle Makers Radiothon” March 26 and 27, so why not meet some of the kids and families you will be helping out. This week, we shed the light on Turner.

Turner Ryan Smith made his grand entrance three weeks early on October 15, 2014, weighing 7 lbs 2 oz and 20.5 inches long. Mom, Ashley, laughs about how big he would have been had he waited the full 40 weeks! Ashley chose The Birth Place at Christus Highland for her delivery because of the kind and supportive staff that offer family-centered care. She wanted the support of her loved ones along with the expertise of the trained staff as she faced the many emotions that come along with giving birth for the first time.
Daddy and mommy, Ryan and Ashley Smith, love Turner "to the moon and back" and are so thankful for Christus for helping celebrate the newest member of the family!
